Description

This cognac brown leather jacket for men has the bold oversized shape and the distressed finish that fans of vintage American leather keep hunting for. Wide lapels open in a double breasted front and gunmetal snap buttons hold the look together with real attitude. Two flap pockets sit on the chest and two more pockets sit low at the sides so there is room for everything a man carries. The crackled grain runs across the whole jacket and no two pieces will ever look the same.

Full grain leather gives the jacket its weight and strength and the leather will keep softening while the distressed
surface gains even more character. The relaxed body layers easy over a tee or a heavy knit and the gathered hem
keeps the back neat. Wear it with dark denim and boots and the whole outfit speaks for itself. Men who search for a distressed leather jacket with a real story in the hide will understand this jacket the moment they touch it.

Care instructions

Good materials outlive trends — if you treat them right. Find your fabric below. Five minutes of care, a few times a year, is all it takes."

Genuine leather

  • Wear it — leather improves with wear. The creases it earns are the point.
  • Keep it dry — wipe rain with a soft, dry cloth and air-dry at room temperature. Never radiators, hairdryers, or direct heat.
  • Condition 2–3 times a year with a quality leather conditioner (test on a hidden spot first).
  • Clean with a damp, soft cloth only. Never machine-wash, soak, or use household cleaners.
  • Store on a wide, sturdy hanger in a breathable garment bag — never sealed plastic — away from direct sunlight.

Suede

  • Brush with a suede brush after wearing; use a suede protector spray before first wear.
  • Keep it dry — if it gets wet, stuff lightly with paper and air-dry slowly. Never use heat.
  • Never condition suede like leather — it needs suede-specific products.

Shearling & fur

  • Shake out and air after wearing. Never wash or dry-clean at home.
  • Store cool and breathable; leave deep cleaning to a professional leather/fur cleaner.

Faux leather

  • Wipe clean with a damp cloth and mild soap; dry with a soft towel.
  • Keep away from direct heat and sunlight — it can crack and peel.
  • Skip the leather conditioner — it's made for real hide and can damage faux finishes.

Stains or damage? "Don't improvise with home remedies — email us a photo at info@jacketaura.com and we'll tell you the right next step."

Find your fit

A leather jacket should fit close, never tight. It should move with you, zip without a fight, and feel like it was cut for your shoulders."

How it should fit:

  • Shoulders — the seams sit right at the edge of your shoulders, not drooping past them.
  • Chest & body — close through the body with room for a light sweater underneath. It should zip up without pulling.
  • Sleeves — end at your wrist bone, so a shirt cuff just peeks out.
  • Length — most of our styles end at the hip. If you're between lengths, the shorter cut looks sharper.

How to measure (60 seconds):
"Grab a jacket you already own that fits well and compare four numbers — chest, shoulder, sleeve, and length. Those measurements matter more than the letter size alone."

  1. Chest — around the fullest part, tape level all the way round.
  2. Shoulder — seam to seam across the back.
  3. Sleeve — from the shoulder seam to the wrist bone.
  4. Length — from the base of the collar to the hem.

Between sizes? "Take the larger size if you plan to layer heavy knits underneath — or if you like a roomier, vintage drape. Take the smaller if you want it sharp and close."

A note on leather: "Genuine leather relaxes and molds to your body with wear. A new jacket should feel snug, never uncomfortable — give it two weeks and it starts feeling like yours."

Range line: "Every style runs XS–4XL."

Why this works: principle-based, not a measurement table — so it stays true across every cut (biker, bomber, aviator, trucker) without per-product edits. Uses your own audited sizing line verbatim.
