Description

The Men’s Distressed Brown Sheepskin Leather Jacket

This men’s distressed brown sheepskin leather jacket brings rugged vintage character and classic workwear styling into a premium everyday outerwear staple. Crafted from supple sheepskin leather with a rich weathered patina, the jacket features a fold-down spread collar, a full center front zipper, a horizontal chest welt pocket, and subtle western yoke paneling across the back.

The distressed brown finish gives the leather natural depth and a lived-in look right out of the box. Sheepskin leather delivers a lightweight, comfortable feel that naturally softens and shapes to your frame without the rigid break-in period of heavier cowhide. Deep slanted side welt pockets provide practical everyday storage, while the clean waistband and straight cuffs maintain a sharp, timeless silhouette.

The cut sits at the waist with a clean profile that layers effortlessly over plain tees, rugged flannel shirts, or casual knitwear.

The Jacket Aura Quality Check

Every Jacket Aura jacket is physically hand-inspected before shipping. For this distressed brown sheepskin leather jacket, the inspection covers the leather grain and patina consistency, spread collar shape, center zipper glide, chest welt pocket stitching, side pocket alignment, western back yoke symmetry, smooth lining condition, and approved Jacket Aura neck label placement.

If a jacket does not meet the required standard, it does not leave the facility.

Fit Advice

This jacket is crafted with a classic regular cut that sits squarely around the waistline. The soft sheepskin leather offers natural ease of movement through the chest and shoulders from the first wear.

Choose your standard size for a clean, tailored fit over t-shirts, henleys, or lightweight sweaters. Size up if you prefer a relaxed fit or plan to wear heavy hoodies and thicker winter layers underneath.

Care instructions

Good materials outlive trends — if you treat them right. Find your fabric below. Five minutes of care, a few times a year, is all it takes."

Genuine leather

  • Wear it — leather improves with wear. The creases it earns are the point.
  • Keep it dry — wipe rain with a soft, dry cloth and air-dry at room temperature. Never radiators, hairdryers, or direct heat.
  • Condition 2–3 times a year with a quality leather conditioner (test on a hidden spot first).
  • Clean with a damp, soft cloth only. Never machine-wash, soak, or use household cleaners.
  • Store on a wide, sturdy hanger in a breathable garment bag — never sealed plastic — away from direct sunlight.

Suede

  • Brush with a suede brush after wearing; use a suede protector spray before first wear.
  • Keep it dry — if it gets wet, stuff lightly with paper and air-dry slowly. Never use heat.
  • Never condition suede like leather — it needs suede-specific products.

Shearling & fur

  • Shake out and air after wearing. Never wash or dry-clean at home.
  • Store cool and breathable; leave deep cleaning to a professional leather/fur cleaner.

Faux leather

  • Wipe clean with a damp cloth and mild soap; dry with a soft towel.
  • Keep away from direct heat and sunlight — it can crack and peel.
  • Skip the leather conditioner — it's made for real hide and can damage faux finishes.

Stains or damage? "Don't improvise with home remedies — email us a photo at info@jacketaura.com and we'll tell you the right next step."

Find your fit

A leather jacket should fit close, never tight. It should move with you, zip without a fight, and feel like it was cut for your shoulders."

How it should fit:

  • Shoulders — the seams sit right at the edge of your shoulders, not drooping past them.
  • Chest & body — close through the body with room for a light sweater underneath. It should zip up without pulling.
  • Sleeves — end at your wrist bone, so a shirt cuff just peeks out.
  • Length — most of our styles end at the hip. If you're between lengths, the shorter cut looks sharper.

How to measure (60 seconds):
"Grab a jacket you already own that fits well and compare four numbers — chest, shoulder, sleeve, and length. Those measurements matter more than the letter size alone."

  1. Chest — around the fullest part, tape level all the way round.
  2. Shoulder — seam to seam across the back.
  3. Sleeve — from the shoulder seam to the wrist bone.
  4. Length — from the base of the collar to the hem.

Between sizes? "Take the larger size if you plan to layer heavy knits underneath — or if you like a roomier, vintage drape. Take the smaller if you want it sharp and close."

A note on leather: "Genuine leather relaxes and molds to your body with wear. A new jacket should feel snug, never uncomfortable — give it two weeks and it starts feeling like yours."

Range line: "Every style runs XS–4XL."

Why this works: principle-based, not a measurement table — so it stays true across every cut (biker, bomber, aviator, trucker) without per-product edits. Uses your own audited sizing line verbatim.
